Photography Contest

Oh, my... It's already been an entire week since I last posted! Sorry about that! As always, we've been really busy. :)

Well, Hannah Paige at Trusting in His Love is holding her own photography contest and I decided I would enter a couple photos :) The theme for the contest is: COLOR.

So here are the pictures I'm entering...

~ My Study Bible ~

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a workman who does not need to be ashamed and
who correctly handles the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

~ Ribbons and Curls ~

"I also want women to dress modestly,
with decency and propriety..."
1 Timothy 2:9 a

Thanks to Sister #3 for being my "guinea pig"! ;)

If you're interested in entering this photography contest, just CLICK HERE for more info. I hope you're having a great Monday, everyone! God bless!

...A White Christmas?

Okay, so we didn't exactly enjoy a Christmas quite this white. lol!
This is just a painting hanging on one of the walls in my dad's parent's house. :)

This is more like how our "white Christmas" looked...

Alright, so it was technically Christmas Eve and it wasn't exactly white. We did get about 30 minutes of snow that melted as it hit the ground, though! :D

You must realize this is probably a first for us having snow in December! ...Especially on Christmas Eve!
My sisters and I asked Mom if we could stand outside in it, and she, of course, said yes! We could barely catch the snow on our camera, but we soon realized it showed up fairly well against my black sweater. :)

( A very cold me! :)

Anyway, we had a very lovely Christmas--despite the fact that it wasn't quite "white"! ;)

Our family has been so blessed this year and we are very grateful for all our loving, caring, friends and family--and most importantly, the amazing God who has taken care of us throughout the entire year. His hand has stayed upon us continually and I praise Him for being faithful and for watching over us. "I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel." Psalm 71:22
So, how many of you enjoyed a "white Christmas"?!

I hope you all had a blessed holiday!

Lord, I Believe.

Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
So they asked him, "What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"
Jesus said to them,
"I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
John 6:29-33

Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.

A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.

"You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me."

Isaiah 53:1
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

Matthew 21:22
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Mark 5:36
Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe."

Mark 9:23
" 'If you can?' " said Jesus. 'Everything is possible for him who believes.' "
"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
~ John 10:25 ~
Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me..."

DO YOU BELIEVE? :)

Second two pictures: Sis #2
Third two pictures: Sis #1
Fourth two pictures: Me
Last picture: (L to R) Me, Sis #1, Sis #2, & Sis #3 (in age order!) :)
As you can see, we had fun with our own little "photo shoot" this afternoon! Yes, we took mostly face pictures (close to 300 to be exact!) but we just had to get a few especially for the blog... I hope you enjoyed them! GOD BLESS!

A New Hairstyle

My sisters and I have always enjoyed playing with each other's hair. It's a lot of fun, especially now that all of our hair is so long! A few days ago Sister #1 decided to experiment trying different hairstyles with Sister #3. They had a lot of fun doing that together. When they showed us what they came up with we just had to get a picture!

Isn't that neat?! If you'd like to see previous posts on different hairstyles we've done, you can get to them by clicking HERE. I hope you all are having a very blessed week!!

Having Fun with Different Hair Curling Methods!

A couple of nights ago I had fun experimenting with the curling iron on my two youngest sisters! LOL! The pictures we took turned out pretty nicely so I wanted to share the results! :)

Sis #3
I decided to just stick with a few simple curls, instead of a whole head of curls like we usually end up doing!

Sis #2
I soon realized that was a pretty smart decision because they sure have quite a lot of long beautiful hair, and it would have taken much longer to curl all of it!

This is Sis #1
She had curled her hair herself using these things we have called "Twisters". We've enjoyed using those in the past too!

And this is me.
I actually didn't do anything to my hair that night. My curls just happened to look fairly decent on their own, instead of their typical (what I call) "poofy"! lol! But if you really want to know, I'll tell you exactly what I did. If I can recall correctly, I went swimming the evening before and afterward put my hair up into a (very messy) bun. Then I slept on it (which I usually don't do because the ponytail breaks my hair during the night). When I woke up I was lazy and decided to leave it alone for the day and when I got home from work that night I took it down and this is what I got! . . . I'll have to try that more often, lol! :)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing what we've been up to. Have a blessed weekend!

Sisters

Today our parents are gone visiting a Messianic Jewish synagogue with another couple from our church. It's a really long story worth telling, but just not right now! :) Needless to say, us four girls are home today by ourselves. Many times when we are left to ourselves on a day like this we enjoy playing with each other's hair, makeup, and having a tea party! So, today was just like any other. We woke up and had cinnamon rolls for breakfast... a nice rare treat! Then we got busy! The funny thing is that each of my sisters have naturally straight hair, while mine is naturally curly. So... what did we do? We curled their hair and straightened mine! LOL! Below is a picture we managed to take with a self-timer! (It was fun playing with that!)
From left to right: Sis #1, Sis #2, Me, and Sis #3. Yes, I really am the oldest. It's just that I stopped growing when I turned 12! Ha!Ha! (We're all looking forward to seeing if Sis #3 passes me up as well). :)
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their day! God bless you all.

I Have Acquired a New Skill! :)

Yes, it's true! Last night I saw a video on YouTube of how to do a french braid, and it inspired me! Ha! Ha! I've never done one before, and you'd think in a house full of 5 women somebody around here would know how, but that would be a nope! :) Anyway, the pictures below are my VERY FIRST attempts ever at french braids, and I was so proud of myself that I just had to share it! I want to thank my two youngest sisters for being so brave as to allow me to try it out on them first. Yes, I still need much perfecting, but for a first try I thought it turned out pretty well: Sister #3
Sister #2

Sister #1 is busy right now, but I plan to try it out on her gorgeous, long blonde hair as well!

"But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."
