Name Above All Names

Jesus, Name Above All Names
hymn by Naida Hearn

Jesus, name above all names
Beautiful Savior
Glorious Lord
Emmanuel, God is with us
Blessed Redeemer
Living Word

"While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see." Acts 3:11-16

"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." John 20:30-31
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
The hymn above is one of my most favorites.
There is power in the name of Jesus... Praise the Lord all the earth!

A Giveaway and a Tag

I just wanted to be sure and let everyone know that Kayla is having her first giveaway over at her blog. If you're interested in finding out more.... you can get there by clicking HERE. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I saw this short tag on Chloe's blog so I thought I would do it. It looks like fun!

1) Why do you have a blog? Just read the "Welcome to my Blog" paragraph on my sidebar! ;)

2) Do you have more close online friends or offline? I'd say it's about the same, but most of my "offline" friends I communicate with online as well.

3) Do you correspond? With my friends? Yes! (Same as Chloe!)

4) Do you have a best friend? Not really. I have a few close friends, though.

5) Do you play April Fools Day pranks? No. I usually don't even realize when it's April Fools! lol

6) Have you watched a movie and then regretted it? I'm sure I have.

7) Do you generally prefer books or their movie adaptions? That really depends on what it is, but usually I would say I enjoy the movies most.

8) How many siblings do you have? 3 sisters

9) Do you want more? Ummm... sure! :D

10) Do you have any married siblings? Nope (I'm the oldest!!!) (Same as Chloe!)

11) What is your favorite branch of the military? I don't really have a favorite... but if I have to choose I guess it's between the Army and the Air Force.

12) What do you hate most in books/movies? Anything dishonoring to God.

13) If you had to name just one book (other than the Bible) to call your favorite, what would it be? That's really hard! My favorites include "Peace Child", "The Cross and the Switchblade", "Bruchko", and the "Love Comes Softly" series. I also like some books by Francine Rivers. So I guess that doesn't really answer the question, lol!

14) What book/series/movie have you been the most wrapped up in? Can't think of anything in particular at the moment. I know there's something, though!

15) What music are you listening to right now? Nothing at this very moment, but lately we've been listening to Christmas music on the radio!

16) What are you having for dinner? I don't know! Tonight is a church night so we'll probably just "fend for ourselves". :)

That's it! I tag anyone who sees this and wants to do it. Let me know if you do... I'd love to see your answers!

Start at the Manger

I'm so excited now that Christmastime is here. I can't believe how quickly it has come! The whole month of December has always been my most favorite time of year! I just love the feeling it brings! But the greatest significance is definitely the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful that God saw fit to send His son to the earth to save mankind from sin. We have great reason to celebrate all month (and year!) long. I thought I would share a song that came to mind. We sing it at church, but when I searched for it online I couldn't find anything about it at all. Hmmm.... therefore, I have no idea who wrote this song! Oh, well. I'll have to type the words from memory! :)

Start at the Manger

Start at the manger on a cold winter night
Look for the star in the sky and follow its light
It leads to a Savior for a world that is lost
Start at the manger, then go to the cross

Start at the manger at the child in the hay
The gift from our Father in heaven, the price he would pay
To save all his children no matter the cost
Start at the manger, then go to the cross

Imagine that you owned the wealth of the world
All of its silver and gold
But what will you do if tomorrow arrives
And your heart is empty and cold?

Start at the manger where redemption began
When Jesus stepped down from his throne to die as a lamb
All of our riches, we will count them as lost
If we start at the manger, then go to the cross

I hope you all enjoy the month ahead, as you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord all the earth! :)

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:9-10

Thanksgiving Pictures

Our family had a very nice Thanksgiving.

We first celebrated last Saturday (a week ago) with my Mom's side of the family. It was held at a community center nearby and there were around 50-60 people there--with tons of food and dessert! It was delicious! :)

Yes, this is me... and that's my Dad's arm in the background! lol

Swinging on the swing outside... it was a beautiful day!

Sister #2 sitting on the bench watching the kids play ball.

The bright blue sky!

We had a chance of rain, but thankfully we didn't get any!

The children playing "20 Questions" together. It was so cute!

My beautiful Mommy & Daddy :)

When we got home that evening, we enjoyed ourselves by sitting around the fireplace. It had gotten a little chilly outside!

Apparently, Ty was enjoying it, too! :)

(Sorry about the spots in the picture. The camera just does that sometimes.)

~ Thanksgiving Day ~

We spent Thanksgiving Day with my Dad's side of the family. The gathering was held in a family's airplane hangar... how interesting! :)

It was actually quite neat. Behind all of the neighborhood houses there was a runway for the planes taking off and landing. We decided to take a few fun pictures...

This is Sister #1 jumping high in the air!

And here, Sisters #2 & #3.

I thought Sis #3 looked so cute here! lol

Now, I'm sure you're wondering if "big sis" gave it a try. Yes, I did in fact. But there is no way I'd ever let anyone set eyes on the picture! Let's just say I'm not quite as talented when it comes to jumping... I guess.

Another BRIGHT blue sky!

I hope you all had a very blessed Thanksgiving! I'd love to hear how you spent your day!

Thank You, Lord, for Your Blessings on Me :)

I thought I would go ahead and post the video of this song for those of you who don't know it already. The first minute is Jeff Easter explaining how his dad wrote this song... so be patient!! :) May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
