1 1/2 Cups Super Washing Soda
1 1/2 Cups Borax
12 Cups Water
12 Cups Water
5 Gallon Bucket
Large pot
Grater
Measuring Cup
Grate the entire bar of soap. Pour grated soap into large pot.
Add the Borax and Washing Soda. Heat on medium heat and stir until all of the soap is melted. (It takes awhile.) Remove from heat. Pour 8 cups of hot water into 5 gallon bucket. Now add soap mixture and stir. Now add 2 gallons plus 12 cups water and stir. Let the soap set for 24 hours.
And this is the finished product!
This is what we use to keep our soap in now. It's much bigger and holds a lot more! (We use the coffee cup to scoop it out! LOL!)
So there you have it! Your very own homemade laundry detergent.
I hope you have a nice weekend! God bless!

Neat post, Taylor! Three cents a load? That sounds like a great idea to me! :) Maybe we can try making our own laundry soap sometime. Thanks for the post, and I hope you have a nice weekend! :)

P.S. - I would have sent you a letter already, but we can't seem to find the stamps at the moment. So... whenever they turn up or when we get some more, I'll send you a letter. I'm so sorry about that! We've gone through a lot of our boxes, but that's such a small thing to look for, I guess. Anyway, I'll be sure to write you a letter as soon as we have stamps again! :)
P.S.S. - Sorry for the long comment! lol!
I make ours also! Only half as much, though. I'm sure glad that Miss Pat showed us how to make this! Susan
Lindsay: I completely understand! I know what you mean about trying to find stamps, lol! Especially when a lot of things are packed and you don't know where to look! Whenever you get the letter sent is perfectly fine! So don't worry about it. I know y'all are still really busy too. I will be looking forward to hearing from you though!
PS... I love long comments! ;)

Miss Susan: I'm glad too! I didn't know y'all made your own soap as well... It's a handy thing to know how to do though! :)
